HIGH PERFORMANCE POWERBOATS
Seven’s Founder, John Solomon, was introduced to high performance powerboats in the mid 80s whilst working for his parents’ UK based boat sales and engineering business during the school holidays. Amongst several brands that the company represented was Scarab, a name synonymous at that time with ‘gofast’ boats.
John had the privilege of traveling to Florida with his parents for the Wellcraft annual get together at which the company would take over the Sarasota Hyatt Marina and fill it with the latest models for the dealers to test. At that time, Scarabs for the retail consumer market were built under license by Wellcraft whilst the race versions were built at Team Scarab by Scarab’s Founder, Larry Smith. It was at these yearly events that John got to meet, and ride with some of the great race boat throttlemen/drivers/riggers of the day including Larry Smith, Bill Sirois, Gus Anastasi, and Eddie Morenz.
John has built upon the early lessons learned from his father and others, and now offers support with the purchase, build, optimisation, and sale of high performance boats.

Gentry Turbo Eagle
John's early fascination with performance boats was catalysed through meeting racing greats such as Gus Anastasi and Bill Sirois seen here with Don Johnson on their way to winning the 1988 World Superboat Championship in a 46ft Larry Smith Scarab with triple Gentry Turbo motors.
